Terms of Engagement

HOUSE RULES OF SERVICE · REVISED JULY 2026

I. What the Steward does

BidSteward watches publicly listed auctions on eBay, compares them against the current asking prices of comparable listings, and sends you alerts. That is the whole engagement: he watches, he compares, he taps your shoulder.

II. What the Steward never does

He never places bids, holds your eBay credentials, buys, sells, or transacts on your behalf. Every bid is yours to place, in your own account, at your own judgment. His comparisons are conservative estimates drawn from public listing data — the current asking prices of comparable items in similar condition. They are not guarantees, not appraisals, not professional valuations, and not financial advice.

III. Your part

Use the service lawfully, keep your account to yourself, and don't attempt to resell, scrape, or republish the Steward's alerts. Finds are delivered to you alone; broadcasting them defeats you and every other household.

IV. The relationship with eBay

BidSteward uses eBay's official developer APIs and participates in the eBay Partner Network — when you click through to a listing and make a purchase, BidSteward may earn a commission at no cost to you. BidSteward is an independent service, not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by eBay Inc.

V. Subscriptions

Paid service is billed monthly and may be cancelled any time, effective at the end of the billing period. If the Steward ever fails to render service for a sustained period, write to us and we will put it right.

VI. The usual provisions

The service is provided as-is; to the maximum extent permitted by law we disclaim warranties and limit liability to the amount you paid in the preceding three months. We may update these terms; material changes will be announced before they take effect.
